Released in Japan in 2014, New Nintendo 3DS XL combined the large screens of the XL model with the hardware improvements of the New Nintendo 3DS family. It incorporated a more powerful processor, C-Stick, ZL and ZR buttons, built-in NFC and a face-tracking system that stabilised the 3D effect. Its increased power also made it possible to run certain exclusive games that did not work on earlier Nintendo 3DS models.
