Samsung DVD-N501 was a DVD player launched in 2000 that incorporated VM Labs’ NUON technology. In addition to playing DVD movies, it could run dedicated video games in DVD format and offered advanced video functions such as zoom and interactive navigation. The NUON system used a programmable multiprocessor architecture and was intended to turn the DVD player into a multimedia and video game platform. Its commercial catalogue was very small, but it received notable titles such as Tempest 3000, developed by Jeff Minter.
