Released in 2012, Neo Geo X Gold officially revived the Neo Geo brand through a handheld manufactured by Tommo under licence from SNK Playmore. It included 20 Neo Geo classics in memory and could be placed in the AES-inspired Neo Geo X Station to play on a television with an original-style joystick. The Gold edition also included a card containing Ninja Master’s, and additional cards with more games appeared later.
