NATIONAL MEIKYOKU JUNIOR JH-500 / JH-500N — photograph from the collection

NATIONAL MEIKYOKU JUNIOR JH-500 / JH-500N

The National Meikyoku Junior JH-500 and JH-500N were two variants of a Japanese portable electronic Go system marketed by National in 1982. Both featured an LCD displaying a 19 × 19 line Go board and controls for entering and reviewing moves. They allowed players to play and study games without a physical board and supported interchangeable modules containing dedicated Go material. Both models are part of this collection and appear together in the photograph.
