GP2X CAANOO — system in the collection

GP2X CAANOO

GamePark Holdings launched CAANOO on 16 August 2010 as the successor to GP2X Wiz. It was a Linux-based handheld aimed particularly at independent and community-developed software. It used an ARM9 processor, 128 MB of memory and SD/SDHC cards, and incorporated a touch screen and accelerometer. Like Wiz and GP2X, it stood out less for a closed catalogue from major publishers than for the possibilities offered by development, emulation and user-created applications. It was GamePark Holdings’ final handheld before the company stopped developing new hardware.
