Released in 2019, Stadia was Google’s attempt to run video games entirely on its servers and stream them over the Internet, without requiring a traditional console or game downloads. Premiere Edition included a Chromecast Ultra and the Stadia Controller for playing directly on a television, with support for up to 4K HDR. Stadia began service on 19 November 2019 and represented one of the most ambitious efforts of its time to deliver gaming entirely through the cloud.
