Blaze Entertainment announced Evercade EXP-R in 2024 as a revision of the Evercade EXP handheld. It retains the horizontal format, 4.3-inch IPS screen and slot for physical Evercade cartridges, as well as TATE mode with dedicated controls for vertical play. The R model adopted a new charcoal-grey finish with turquoise details and changes to its configuration compared with the original EXP. It is a revision within the same cartridge ecosystem, not an incompatible platform or a separate new generation.
