VTech introduced V.Smile Pro — marketed as V.Flash in North America — in 2006 as an evolution of its educational-console line. Unlike the original V.Smile, it used optical discs and was aimed at older children, approximately six to ten years old. The system incorporated three-dimensional graphics and retained the family’s educational focus, with activities based on school subjects and licensed characters. It was developed with the involvement of Koto Laboratory. Its catalogue and commercial life were limited compared with the cartridge-based V.Smile, so VTech did not continue this branch for many generations.
