VTech introduced MobiGo in 2010 as a handheld educational system with a touch screen aimed at children. It combined touch interaction with a sliding QWERTY keyboard, enabling activities involving reading, writing, mathematics and other educational content. Games were distributed mainly on proprietary cartridges and the platform could be connected to a computer to use VTech services and content. MobiGo transferred VTech’s experience with V.Smile and other educational products to a portable touch-based format at a time when touch screens were rapidly becoming part of everyday life.
