V-Migo appeared in 2006 as a virtual-pet system developed by JAKKS Pacific. Each handheld unit represented a pet and could be used independently to care for it and play with it. When connected to the television base, the pet moved into a colour environment with new activities and minigames. One particularly interesting feature was that the same base could use different V-Migo handheld units, allowing the pet to be changed. Different game modules could also be installed in the base, providing independent games and content. Various pets and accessories were marketed to expand the system; this unit is the Golden Retriever edition.
