The Steam Machine name was originally used by Valve in 2013 for a platform of living-room computers running SteamOS, later marketed by different manufacturers beginning in 2015. In 2026 Valve revived the name for this new Steam Machine, this time designed as the company’s own unified model. It runs SteamOS 3 and retains the flexibility of a PC, allowing applications and even other operating systems to be installed. It is offered with a 512 GB or 2 TB NVMe SSD, supports expansion via microSD and incorporates the 2.4 GHz wireless receiver for Steam Controller.
