Tianli Sega VCD Player appeared in China in 1998 as the result of an agreement between Sega and Xin Tianli Electronics. It combined a Video CD player with Mega Drive hardware and replaced traditional cartridges with Game VCD discs containing Mega Drive games, making it one of the most unusual official adaptations of Sega’s 16-bit hardware.
