SUPERVISION 9109 — system in the collection

SUPERVISION 9109

Watara introduced Supervision in 1992 as a monochrome cartridge-based handheld intended to compete with the Game Boy on price. It used a 160 × 160-pixel LCD screen and interchangeable cartridges and was distributed in numerous markets under different brands. Model 9109 corresponds to one of the platform’s early configurations, with the console format characteristic of the first Supervision units. The fragmentation of brands and distributors is an essential part of its history: the same basic system could be found under different commercial names depending on the country.
