Sony introduced the CLIÉ PEG-NR70V in 2002 as one of its most advanced Palm OS PDAs. Its design incorporated a 320 × 480-pixel colour screen mounted on a rotating section that allowed the device to be used open like a small computer with a keyboard or folded with the screen facing outwards. The NR70V model also added a built-in digital camera, still an unusual feature in a PDA at that time. It used Memory Stick for expansion and combined Palm OS applications with Sony’s own multimedia software, illustrating the growing convergence of organiser, imaging and portable entertainment functions.
