SEGA GAME GEAR MICRO — system in the collection

SEGA GAME GEAR MICRO

Sega released Game Gear Micro in Japan on 6 October 2020 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Game Gear and the company’s 60th anniversary. It was an extremely small functional reinterpretation: approximately 80 × 43 × 20 mm, with a 1.15-inch screen. Four versions were produced — black, blue, yellow and red — and each colour included four different games, so they were not merely cosmetic variants. The software was again developed with the involvement of M2, also responsible for Mega Drive Mini emulation. It ran on two AAA batteries or USB power and was sold exclusively in Japan.
