Released in March 2017, Nintendo Switch introduced a hybrid concept that allowed the same console to be used as a handheld, as a home system through the Dock, or as a shared gaming system thanks to its detachable Joy-Con controllers. The original HAC-001 model, later known as V1, was the first commercial version and used the original Tegra X1; in 2019 it was replaced by a revision with longer battery life identified as HAC-001(-01).
