NINTENDO NES — system in the collection

NINTENDO NES

Nintendo Entertainment System was the international adaptation of the Japanese Family Computer. After becoming established in North America during 1985 and 1986, its European distribution took place in stages: some Nordic markets received it in 1986 and much of Europe during 1987 through regional distributors. Nintendo completely redesigned the case compared with the Famicom and used 72-pin cartridges together with the 10NES regional lockout system. Despite the physical differences, its fundamental architecture came from the Famicom and made it possible to bring games such as Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda and Metroid to the international market.
