NEC PC-FXGA was an expansion card that brought PC-FX capabilities to certain NEC PC-9800 computers. It allowed software and tools related to the console's architecture to be used within a computer and was aimed particularly at development and content creation as well as running compatible software. Versions existed for PC-98 and PC/AT, so their interfaces should not be confused. PC-FXGA extended the PC-FX concept beyond the home console and provided programmable access to functions that, in the commercial machine, were intended mainly for CD-ROM games.
