PC Engine CoreGrafx II appeared in Japan in 1991 as a less expensive revision of the original CoreGrafx. It retained virtually the same capabilities and kept the expansion port, allowing it to use the external CD-ROM² and Super CD-ROM² systems. It featured a new light-grey case with orange details.
