GP2X F100 — system in the collection

GP2X F100

GamePark Holdings launched GP2X F100 in South Korea in late 2005 as a Linux-based multimedia handheld. It used two ARM cores in the MagicEyes MMSP2 system, a 320 × 240-pixel screen and SD cards for storage. Unlike many closed handheld platforms, GP2X became especially well known for facilitating community-developed software, emulators and multimedia applications. GamePark Holdings had emerged after the GP32 era, but GP2X was not simply a revision of that machine: it used a new platform and an open operating system that defined much of its identity.
