Tiger Electronics launched Game.com Pocket Pro in the United States during 1999 as a smaller revision of Game.com, originally released in 1997. It retained the platform’s cartridges and monochrome touch screen, but reduced the size of the case, changed from four to two AA batteries and removed one of the original model’s two cartridge slots. Tiger thus attempted to make the machine more like a conventional handheld and reduce its price. Pocket Pro retained compatibility with the Game.com catalogue and appeared during the final stage of a platform that Tiger would abandon shortly afterwards.
