Initially presented as a concept in 2015 and commercially released in 2016, GEM Box was EMTEC’s entry into the Android microconsole market. It combined downloadable Android games with GameFly Streaming and the ability to stream games from a PC, bringing together local and streamed gaming in a small device connected to the television. It also included four pre-installed Android games and its own wireless controller.
