Commodore 64GS was an attempt to turn the Commodore 64 into a home console. It retained virtually the same hardware but removed the keyboard and loaded games exclusively from cartridge. This caused problems with titles that required keyboard input and, arriving in 1990 against more modern systems, it had a very short commercial life.
