CASIO PV-1000 — system in the collection

CASIO PV-1000

Casio released the PV-1000 exclusively in Japan in October 1983. It was a cartridge console based on a Z80A with 2 KB of RAM and appeared when the Famicom and SG-1000 were already competing for the emerging Japanese market. Its commercial catalogue was small and included conversions of arcade titles such as Pooyan, Dig Dug and Amidar. Casio released the PV-2000 computer at almost the same time, but despite their similar names and cases, the two systems used different architectures and their cartridges were incompatible.
